Pretty In Pink Protein Smoothie

What better way to celebrate spring than with a pretty, pink protein smoothie!? It’s time to bust out of the humdrum winter, and bring on the FIERCE vibrance of this season!

If you happened to catch my last live facebook video, I talked about how I absolutely love the organic dragon fruit frozen fruit mix from Costco. It’s not often you find a fresh, exotic fruit like dragon fruit at your regular grocer… or at least not here in Utah.

Let’s talk dragon fruit for a moment.

First of all, real talk - anything with a name that insinuates a fire-breathing beast has got to be badass - I mean, come on!

It is seriously, SO GOOD, and it’s good for you, too!

Here’s the proof:

Benefits of dragon fruit from Healthline:

  • Antioxidant rich - which can help fight chronic disease

  • High in Fiber

  • Promotes a healthy gut (due to the natural probiotics)

  • Strengthens your immune system (vitamin C and carotenoids)

  • May boost low iron levels (contains 8% daily recommended intake)

  • Good source of magnesium.

With so many great benefits,, what’s not to like?!

Naturally, I added a scoop of my favorite protein powder to get that extra nutritional boost and to make this smoothie pretty much as perfect as a fairy tale.

I hope you enjoy Pretty In Pink; it’s quickly becoming one of my favorites because it’s super simple, it packs a nutritional punch, and the cheer-me-up factor is through the castle roof.

6 oz. Almond milk
2 oz. Orange juice
1/2 c. Dragon Fruit (I used about 8 frozen cubes from Costco mix)
1 scoop Vanilla protein powder (I used LadyBoss LEAN)

2. Blend until smooth
3. Enjoy!
